No início deste mês fiz um post sobre a capa deste livro.

Na altura encontrei apenas essa imagem mas não entendi do que se tratava, nem consegui chegar ao autor da mesma.

Hoje consegui mais informação.

Apesar de acreditar na liberdade de informação, acho muitíssimo importante respeitar e reconhecer a autoria de um trabalho, assim como a fonte através da qual se chega até ali. Por trás de cada criação, seja ele uma imagem, ou uma frase, ou outra coisa qualquer, existe uma pessoa, ou várias, que dedicaram o seu tempo (por vezes muito) a pensar, a planear e a conceber aquele incrível produto final. Fazer alguma coisa parecer simples raramente o é para quem cria ou imagina.

Fica aqui o meu testemunho de designer e de pessoa. Até para copiar é preciso ter entendimento das regras mais elementares de boa convivência humana: respeito absoluto pelo tempo e espaço do outro.

E este é afinal um maravilhoso livro de receitas –  um tributo às massas e aos molhos perfeitos, desenvolvido pelo designer Caz Hildebrand em parceria com o chef Jacob Kenedy. O design minimalista e monocromático é uma magnífica analogia ao seu conteúdo. A geometria da massa: a sua concepção e a razão pela qual estas têm as diferentes formas que todos conhecemos.

Earlier this month I did a  post on the cover of this book.

At the time I just found this picture but I didn't understood what it was about and I couldn't get the name of the author.

Today I got more information about it.

Although I believe in freedom of information, I think it's very important to respect and acknowledge the authorship of a work, as well as the source throughout I reach there. Behind every creation, an image, a phrase or something else, there is one person or several, who have dedicated their time (sometimes a lot of time) to think, plan and design that amazing final product. Making something look simple rarely is it for the one who creates or imagines.

Here is my testimony as a designer and a person. Even to copy it's needed to understand one of the most elementary rules of human coexistence: absolute respect for the time and space of the others.

And this is after all a wonderful cookbook – a tribute to the perfect pasta and sauces, developed by the designer Caz Hildebrand in partnership with the chef Jacob Kenedy. The minimalist and monochrome design is a magnificent analogy to its content. The geometry of pasta: how to to make it and why these pastas have the different shapes we all know.

Toska - O livro

Tenho a certeza que já vi o trabalho dela antes, mas cada vez ando mais desmemoriada para nomes.

Lizzy Stewart, é uma fantástica ilustradora cujo trabalho evoca alguma melancolia e perda, tal como li via The Fox is Black.

Adoro o facto das suas ilustrações serem tão narrativas ou contarem tão bem uma história, ainda que esta seja completamente gráfica.

O livro Toska, está à venda aqui.

Nenhuma palavra em Inglês processa todos os matizes de 'Toska. No seu mais profundo e mais doloroso, é uma sensação de grande angústia espiritual, muitas vezes sem nenhuma causa específica. I'm sure that I have seen her work before, but it seems like I'm loosing all the ability to memorize names.

Lizzy Stewart, is a fantastic illustrator which work evokes some melancholy and loss, just as I've read via The Fox is Black.

I love the fact that her illustrations are narratives or that they are capable of telling a story, even though they are completely graphic.
