Comboio para Pequim

Quando entrámos no taxi para Hong kiao, onde apanharíamos o comboio que nos levaria durante a noite até Pequim, percebemos que pela primeira vez havia música ocidental. O taxista tinha a sua própria playlist e a determinada altura estávamos todos a cantar a música "Hotel California" dos Eagles. Todos com a mesma energia.

Foi um momento indescrítivel. Não sei se por esta música me levar de volta ao passado, quando ainda ouvia os cd's do meu pai (na era em que os cd's apareceram). Ou apenas por sentir que as vibrações naquele carro eram iguais. E eram muito boas...

A música é mesmo uma linguagem universal. O entendimento fica tão mais fácil desta forma.

When we got into the taxi to Hong kiao, where we would catch the train that would take us overnight to Beijing, we realized that for the first time it was Western music playing. The taxi driver had his own playlist and at some point we were all singing "Hotel California " from the Eagles. Everyone with the same energy.

It was an indescribable moment. Dont know if it was because this song bring me back to the past, when I listened to the cd's from my father (in the era when the cd's appeared). Or just because I felt the vibes in that car were equal. And they were very good ...

The music is indeed a universal language. This way, we understand each other so much better.

Embate

Hoje fui duas vezes de encontro a esta música. Isto quer dizer que por duas vezes a ouvi como se nunca a tivesse ouvido antes. (E ela já passou por mim tantas vezes.)

Faz-me realmente sentir à meia-luz. (E eu ando quase sempre à meia-luz.)

Today I went twice against this music. This means that two times I listen to it as if I had never heard it before. (And it has passed by me so many times.)

Quando chegámos a Xangai à meia-noite, o aeroporto estava vazio e os postos de informação fechados.

Precisávamos de ter a morada do hostel traduzida para Chinês porque em Xangai esta é a única forma de andar de taxi se quisermos chegar ao nosso destino.

Resolvemos pedir ajuda à senhora da casa de câmbios. E lá fomos.

O nosso taxista mostrou-se desde logo bastante inseguro com o percurso (percebemos isto pelos gestos que fazia e porque insistia em gritar connosco em Chinês, como se isso pudesse mudar alguma coisa).

Durante o caminho, eu e a Susana, preocupadas com todo o contexto, começámos a pensar em planos B's. E... acabámos mesmo por ter de utilizar todos os planos que fizemos.

Depois de sermos deixadas às 2h da manhã no meio de uma rua de Xangai desconhecida e às escuras (as luzes da cidade são apagadas às 22h) que para nós mais parecia a Amadora lá do sítio, lá conseguimos chegar ao nosso hostel com a ajuda dos funcionários de outros 2 hóteis e de outro taxista.

When we arrived to Shanghai at midnight, the airport was empty and the information desks closed.

We needed to have the address of the hostel translated into Chinese because in Shanghai this is the only way to ride a taxi if we want to reach our destination.

We decided to get help from the lady of the currency place. And there we went.

Our taxi driver has shown since the beginning quite insecure about the way (we noticed this by his gestures and because he insisted on shouting to us in Chinese, as if that could change anything).

Along the way, me and Susana, worried about the whole context, began to think of B plans. And. .. we ended up having to actually use all the plans we made​​.

After being left at 2 am in the middle of a unknown street in Shanghai and in the dark (the lights of the city are cleared to 22h) which seemed to us more like Amadora city (lisbon suburb area), we managed to get to our hostel with the help of of other two hotel employees and another taxi driver.
